Johnny Grimes is the executive director of Altar 84 and former strategy coordinator for the PLNTD Network. Johnny holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from New Orleans Baptist Seminary and has nearly a decade of experience in church planting, orphan care, and nonprofit leadership management.
Clay Smith works as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Hospital. He is a graduate of Union University and The University of Tennessee, with licensing and certification in pediatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. Clay is a member of Grace Community Church in Nashville and regularly leads medical mission teams to Haiti, Ecuador, and Honduras.
John Leconte is the facilities program manager of Naval Medical Research Center in Germantown, Maryland. John spent the first 20 years of his life in Haiti serving local churches. Soon after immigrating to the United States, John enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 11 years in active duty as enlisted and commissioned officer. He brings a unique perspective to the leadership team with his personal experience as a Haitian leader as well as corporate management experience with the U.S. Navy.
Jody Sledge is a pastor of Christ Fellowship Church in Bowling Green, Kentucky and administrative assistant to Hope House Ministries, a nonprofit focused on alleviating physical and spiritual poverity through Gospel Restoration. He is a graduate of Campbellsville University and holds a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. With his experience in both the local church and nonprofit world, Jody brings a wealth of practical knowledge to the organization.
Scott James works as Assistant Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and University of South Florida. Scott also serves on the administrative elder team at The Church at Brook Hills. He is passionate about global disciple-making and has participated in numerous cross-cultural trips, including Vietnam, Jordan, Oman, UAE, Greece, and Kenya.
Chuck has extensive business management and ministry related experience gained over 34-years as a senior executive for a global Information Technology company and through his church work as a deacon, elder, and teacher. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he majored in Business Administration and Chemistry. Chuck is an elder and teacher in his local church. He and his wife Regina live in Prosper, Texas, and are parents of two adult children, Tiffany and Aaron.
